The Great Cornish Outdoors celebrates Life in Cornwall and Running.

I know you’ll love it as much as I do.

Hi, I’m Penny Bedford.

Welcome.

About The Great Cornish Outdoors.

The Great Cornish Outdoors wasn’t always like this.

It all started in 2017 as a psychology blog called, Jung, Foolish and Happy. It became clear though that I didn’t want to write about my profession, as a clinical psychologist. Instead I wanted to write about two things that continue to bring me joy and fulfilment – running and life in Cornwall. My blog, Penny’s Lane, was born, which has since evolved into The Great Cornish Outdoors.

The Great Cornish Outdoors is all about adventures and experiences in Cornwall. Coastpath exploring, running routes and events, and of course, the Cornish life. There’s so many things to do, places to visit and routes to run in Cornwall, and I’m here to share the best with you.

Blogging has led to some wonderful collaborations and long standing relationships with brands. These include clothing brands Enso London and Tog 24. I’ve also been featured in Dure magazine and Cornwall Life, under my previous blog name, Penny’s Lane.

About Me, Penny.

As for me, when I’m not breaking into a new pair of trail running shoes, or loitering in a Cornish village, you’ll find me tucked away on the Roseland Peninsula. I’m a busy parent to my lovely boy, Henry, and work as a clinical psychologist in Children’s Services.

I’m in my 40s, embracing the grey, and as you can tell, love being proper Cornish.
