The Great Cornish Outdoors celebrates Life in Cornwall

I know you’ll love it as much as I do

Hi, I’m Penny Sherwood

About The Great Cornish Outdoors

Welcome to The Great Cornish Outdoors, your comprehensive guide to life in Cornwall and coastal living.

The Great Cornish Outdoors is dedicated to sharing places to visit and things to do in Cornwall, food and drink recommendations, and shining the light on Cornish and coastal brands and events in the Duchy. As you’d expect there’s an emphasis on what it’s like to live in Cornwall, time outdoors, exploring Cornwall’s coast path and activities like running and sea swimming.

A new addition to The Great Cornish Outdoors is an art shop selling contemporary Cornish paintings and limited edition prints. These are all painted by me, after picking up a paint brush for the first time in 2018. Just goes to show, you never know where the small decisions will take you, and what’s around the corner!

Writing and maintaining a Cornish lifestyle blog has led to working with some incredible brands. These include clothing brands Enso London and Tog 24. I’ve also been featured in Dure magazine and Cornwall Life, under my previous blog name, Penny’s Lane.

About Me, Penny

I seem to be someone with several strings to my bow. Three days a week I work for the Local Authority; I’m a clinical psychologist for children in care. As I enter my mid 40s, I find myself leaning into a need to explore my creativity and invest my time in fulfilling projects and interests, like painting, photography and writing and maintaining The Great Cornish Outdoors, which I’m delighted to share with you.

In case you hadn’t noticed, I’m Cornish born and bred but spent my 20s and most of my 30s out of Cornwall. I finally found my way home and live on the beautiful Roseland Peninsula. I’m also a parent to Henry, who just keeps growing way too quickly for my liking!

If you’d like to work with me, you can find out more here. Feel free to download my media kit for more information on The Great Cornish Outdoors.
